About

Brandy Bonifas grew up in southeastern Ohio on the edge of the Appalachian foothills. The culture, people, and rolling hills of this region, rich in both legend and folklore, often provide inspiration for her stories.

Brandy started writing and creating stories as far back as she can remember and wrote her first book at 11 years old for a national children's book contest. Her book didn't win and remains unpublished, but after the accomplishment of completing her first book, there was no turning back. She knew she wanted to be an author. While attending college, she had several poems published in the literary magazine Ship of Fools and The Atwood Review.  She went on to graduate summa cum laude from The University of Rio Grande with Bachelor of Science degrees in both Psychology and English Literature.

After graduating, she spent over a decade working in behavioral health with a focus on crisis intervention and suicide prevention. All the while, she spent her days off at the computer typing away at ideas and even writing the framework of an epic fantasy series which she plans to return to in the near future.

In 2011, she married her husband, Kenny Bonifas. Their son came along in 2014, and things haven't slowed down since. She spent the next several years focusing on her family, only writing on occasion, but when her son started preschool in the fall of 2017 and she was once again able to carve a few hours out of her day, she vowed to devote that time to reviving her dream of becoming an author.

Since that time, her published work has spanned a range of genres including science fiction, fantasy, speculative fiction, romance, poetry, and children's literature and has appeared or is forthcoming in anthologies released by Clarendon House Publications, Zombie Pirate Publishing, and Pixie Forest Publishing. She has no plans of stopping any time soon.
